Dear Liberty State Park supporters,

LSP SAVED AGAIN! Governor Murphy's NJDEP has rejected Suntex Marinas' destructive 300 yachts plan for LSP's non-commercial, peaceful southside right behind Lady Liberty and also its expansion plan for Suntex's northside marina (Liberty Landing Marina).

This great news marks a major turning point in LSP history with hopefully a positive and productive era initiated by Governor Murphy and his excellent DEP Commissioner Catherine McCabe and Assistant Commissioner Ray Bukowski. LSP for ALL THE PEOPLE!

The dark cloud of privatization over LSP from the Christie era is over! Again, park supporters have put democracy into action and advocated for a free, great NJ and American iconic park behind Lady Liberty.

The Friends thanks our 25 year advocacy co-leader Greg Remaud, head of the NY/NJ Baykeeper, the many hundreds of LSP supporters and the many groups who once again stood up for our open space urban state park, and we express special thanks to JC Mayor Steve Fulop and the Hudson County legislative delegation.
